{"id":29,"date":"2014-10-04T21:58:33","date_gmt":"2014-10-04T21:58:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.estarser.net\/communiques\/?p=29"},"modified":"2015-02-11T21:41:46","modified_gmt":"2015-02-11T21:41:46","slug":"screaming-at-the-eyes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.estarser.net\/communiques\/?p=29","title":{"rendered":"Screaming at the Eyes"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>The <em>Proceedings<\/em>\u00a0recently received a very interesting submission concerning\u00a0Walt Whitman&#8217;s possible association with the Order. \u00a0The brief essay focuses almost entirely on the haunting and mysterious line in canto III of &#8220;Song of Myself&#8221;:<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 .<\/div>\n<div>&#8220;Shall I postpone my acceptation and realization and scream at my eyes?&#8221;<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 .<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>It would seem, according to the author of the piece (now out for peer review) that &#8220;acceptation&#8221; was a term adopted by some of the Fourierist cells as an alternate name for &#8220;Attending.&#8221; \u00a0The essay goes on to allege that &#8220;screaming at one&#8217;s eyes&#8221; was a form of Negation developed by Whitman himself. \u00a0If the analysis is correct, considerable avenues for further exploration\u00a0would obviously immediately be opened before those equipped for the necessary labor. It is, however, too early to say if the author is fully in command of his\/her argument.
